Angle map

An angle map is the ranked set of entry points through which one asset is presented.

One asset has many entry points. A product can be shown as a result, a process, a comparison, a failure, or a person using it. Each of those is an angle. The map is the ranked set.

Ranking is the part that matters. Angles are not weighted by what the organisation finds interesting. They are weighted by evidence of what the audience already stops for.

Where the map comes from

Angles are drawn from three places. What the asset genuinely supports. What the audience already responds to elsewhere. And what has earned response inside the running system. The third source only exists after the first cycle. Early maps are broader for that reason, and later maps are sharper.

What the map governs

Everything downstream is briefed from it. Formats are built to carry a specific angle on a specific platform. Creator partners are briefed from the same map as the owned accounts. That shared brief is what keeps the two from drifting into separate efforts.

Not the same as a content calendar

A calendar answers when. An angle map answers why this framing rather than another. A calendar built without a map schedules guesses efficiently.

Not the same as a platform-native format

The map decides the framing. A platform-native format decides the build. One angle is usually carried by several formats, each shaped for where it lands.
