Distribution constraint
A distribution constraint is the binding limit between an asset that is already good and the audience it never reaches.
Spektra works with organisations that have two things at once. A valuable asset, and a constraint on how it travels. The second one is the reason to call.
A constraint is not a shortage. Most organisations that believe they need more content are already making enough. The archive is large. The audience is small. Adding to the archive does not move the second number, because the archive was never the limit.
How a constraint shows itself
The signs are consistent across segments. Work lands well in a live room and dies in a feed. A launch trends for three days and returns to baseline. A back catalogue earns nothing between releases. Each of these is one asset failing to travel, not one asset failing to exist.
Why naming it matters
A constraint is specific, and specificity changes the spend. If the limit is format, more posts will not fix it. If the limit is routing, better formats will not fix it. Buying the wrong fix is the common outcome, and it is expensive.
Spektra identifies the binding constraint before proposing a system. That diagnosis is the whole purpose of the Distribution Blueprint. The Blueprint states the constraint plainly, then prioritises against it.
Not the same as a distribution gap
The two terms sit close together and get swapped. A constraint is the cause. A distribution gap is the measured distance between where an asset reaches now and where it could reach. The gap is the symptom. The constraint is what produced it.
